temporary placement within social services agencies in California (Los Angeles, Orange County and the Antelope Valley), as

Knowledge and administrative acumen with the format and expectations
of DMH paperwork are necessary skills for clinicians seeking employment with DMH operated and contracted organizations.
is the goal of Ms. Interview to provide your agency with candidates who are not only familiar with the administrative tasks
and duties that come with this position but to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of accurate and thorough documentation
as it impacts service delivery, contract compliance and adherence to respective professional board guidelines for documentation
(Board of Behaviroral Sciences and Board of Psychology).
Ms. Interview will send each candidate through a DMH Documentation
Certification program provided by e-Mental Health Connect. The format for this certification program will be both live
didactic/interactive instruction and online learning. Each module will have a post-test to document candidate's completion
and understanding of the content listed. There are 12 modules for the candidate to complete and a score of 80% or greater
is needed on the post tests to achieve DMH Documentation Certification.
Candidates will receive a "workbook with
examples of completed forms (e.g. sample assessments - initial and annual), progress notes across different types of service
delivery (e.g. individual, group, family, collateral, crises, case management, rehab etc). In addition to the completion
of this post tests for each module each candidate will be expected to complete a portfolio that will include at least 1 initial
assessment, 3 progress notes, 1 treatment plan and 1 discharge plan prior to certificate completion. The portfolio core
needs to be at or exceed 80%.
Topics to be covered will include:
- documenting the "clinical loop"
necessity - who qualifies for our services and how to document clinical need.
- "if you did not document it, it did not happen"
Synopsis of the Outcome Measures
Brief overview of the Outcome Measures required by the County - under Prevention and Early Intervention:
of the following measures will be reviewed - there will be an online webinar for each (created for the County of Los Angeles
by DIMH), there will be a mock client that all candidates will need to complete each of these measures, score and create a
treatment plan that would include the results of these outcomes. There will be a review of the administration, scoring
and interpretation for each measure and there will also be a review of the appropriate demographics and limitations for each
of the following measures.
-youth outcome questionnaire (YOQ) self and caregiver report
-PTSD-RI (youth and caregiver)
Synopsis of the EBP's offered in LAC-DMH
1. Overview of EBP's offered in LAC and specific focus on overview for
your agency EBP
2. What is an EBP? We will provide
candidates with an undrestanding of Evidence Based Practicing - meaning, purpose and intent of this service delivery.
3. Why do we need to look to the research to help us to provide the most
efficacious treatment in an efficient manner?
Brief overview of the practices that are being delivered at your agency
- to give candidates an understanding of the interventions they might be expected to deliver and/or the practeces that are
being delivered by other clinicians.
